Road connections

To get to the Kimitoön Island is easy by car or bus. From the east and Helsinki, you drive over the Strömma channel, the only place in Finland where sea tide can be seen.

From northeast, you are able to take the free car ferry at Kokkila (leaves every 20 minutes) from the Salo direction. If coming from Turku, drive over the Pungböle bridge from north.

Onwards to the islands Rosala, Hitis, Högsåra and Vänö among other small picturesque Archipelago villages, you get by a ferry from Kasnäs or a boat from Dalsbruk.

The newest important bridge at the Kimitoön islands is the Lövböle bridge, connecting the main Kimitoön island with Lövö and Kasnäs, its length is 473m and height over the sea 19m.

It is easy to get to the Kimitoön islands by bus from Helsinki, Turku and Salo every day.

Most bus timetables to and from the Kimitoön and archipelago area can be viewed on the Matkahuolto portal. Good end stops for your search on the site are for instance Kasnäs, Dalsbruk and Kimito. Some departures can be found only at vainionliikenne.fi

Without ferries connecting islands to each other, the archipelago would not survive. The archipelago offers many great cruises and boat rides.
