Climb the cliffs of Kimitoön

For cliff and crag climbers, there are many nice vertical cliffs of varying difficulty grading both on the main island in the area, Kimitoön, and in the surrounding archipelago. Also guided climbing is arranged by Nordic Activities for those who are not yet familiar enough with the safety and techniques of rope climbing.

If you would like to do climbing without a guide, the crag of Oxhagaberget close to the village Kimito offers 13 routes for traditional climbing and many anchors for top rope climbing plus four bolted sport climbing routes.  Just a few steps from the Senatsberget nature trail fireplace close to the village Dalsbruk, 8 nice routes for trad climbing with bolted anchors have been prepared. Both Oxhagaberget and Senatsberget are only a short walking distance from the closest roads and close to services like restaurants and accommodation.

If you feel like heading out amongst the archipelago, nice crags are found on many islands. Kyrkskär has 11 routes for trad climbing with top-roping anchoring possibilities. The crag also offers very nice bouldring possibilities. On other islands, ice-smoothed boulder rocks offer nice bouldering and climbing. If you do not have a boat or kayak of your own, taxi boats are available or you can rent a kayak to stuff your equiment in for a tour out on the sea.
