Västanfjärd - Village roads and seashores

Västanfjärd offers an authentic Finnish archipelago village and countryside atmosphere with quiet village roads and shoreline, but also many activities and events. The village's historical and cultural sights and services are close together, within a radius of 10 kilometers.

Västanfjärd has a rich history of shipyards and limestone mines. The cultural trail is skirted around with many culturally and historically valuable buildings and meanders on past cows and sheep that graze on the beach meadows. The open cast mines and the monuments to the town's shipping history are also ideal as excursion destinations. The lookout point on the Lammala nature trail becomes even more appealing when you enjoy the beautiful landscape together with a picnic from the village shop. The second nature trail in Västanfjärd leads to a Maiden’s dance, or a labyrinth(maze) as it is also called.

You can reach Västanfjärd by taking the Coastal Route from Kimito or Dalsbruk. Those who arrive by sea can moor their boats at Kalkholmen's guest harbor and restaurant. Kalkholmen has a stage used for the summer theater, concerts and festivals, as well as yoga lessons. In Västanfjärd you can play tennis, golf, boules and padel.
